Yet to try: Alpha-H…

IMG_1125.JPG

I recently purchased some products from the Alpha-H range. I am yet to try them but thought I’d share what I bought on here and then update you as I test them out! I felt they would be a good buy as we are coming into winter and my skin can get quite dry. These products seem good for helping with skin texture and tone, making it appear more radiant which can sometimes be difficult in the heights of the winter months. Although they are quite pricey, I really do think it is worth investing in good skincare. Out of everything I learned when doing my CIDESCO diploma, skincare and facials are what really appealed to me and are where my passion lies. I honestly believe that you can tell the difference between skin that has a good skincare regime and skin that doesn’t. For my diploma my chosen topic for my thesis was if skincare was necessary or overrated and researching this only made me more certain that it is important. I will stop there because I could honestly talk about that topic all day! If you want to see what products I purchased, please keep reading!

First up is the Essential Cleansing Balm. This is a relatively new product and it smells insane! If you’re not a fan of the scent of rose then this one probably isn’t for you but I love it and I love using products with calming scents before bed, which is one of the reasons I love the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish so much! (If you want to know more about Cleanse and Polish, I’ve done a whole blog post dedicated to it here) This cleanser is rich in essential fatty acids and contains a range of essential oils. I was also lucky enough to learn Aromatherapy during my training so got to gain knowledge on the different essential oils. This cleanser contains Geranium which can act as an antioxidant and Sea Buckthorn which has rejuvenating effects on the skin. This cleanser is meant to melt away makeup and help cleanse excess sebum on the skin. It also came with a cotton muslin cloth which is used to wipe away the cleanser for that extra touch of luxury. It can also be used as an overnight balm to provide intense nourishment and soften the skin. It is a really good idea to use this cleanser as an overnight mask as, because it contains essential oils, they can penetrate the deeper layers of the skin compared to other products that contain water as the main ingredient. If you want to know a bit more about this, I do briefly mention it in my October Favourites video but I am going to do a post on this soon which will be more in depth.

IMG_1130.JPGNext up is the Daily Essential Moisturiser. This contains SPF50 which is a big plus for me, SPF is so important to wear, even if the sun isn’t out, UV rays and environmental effects can still damage the skin and I think that having SPF in your moisturiser is perfect because it ensures that you remember to wear it! Sometimes I find that with certain moisturisers that contain SPF though, they can be quite greasy and hard to wear under makeup, particularly as I have some oily areas on my skin. However, this one actually says that it is designed to prep your skin for makeup so fingers crossed this will be a winner! It contains Vitamin E which is perfect for nourishing the skin and Aloe Vera which, combined with the Vitamin E, is also meant to help combat premature ageing.

IMG_1129.JPGNext is the Absolute Eye Complex. Now I have never been someone that applies eye cream religiously, however, I have started to try and apply it more regularly now. The skin around the eyes is completely different to the skin on the rest of your face and it is a lot thinner, which is why fine lines always occur around the eyes first. Also, I notice that when I apply an eye cream before my foundation and concealer, it creases less and looks seamless. I am a big fan of the Murad Radiance Eye Cream it is quite thick but helps to make your under eyes appear brighter and combats those dark circles! This product is actually an eye serum and is designed to brighten dark circles and also acts as an eye makeup primer, which I am a big fan of. It contains Vitamin B5 and Cucumber which has soothing properties and refreshes the eyes.

IMG_1131.JPGNext is the Absolute Lip Perfector. This is infused with peppermint oil to nourish the lips and prevent them from appearing dehydrated. It also contains hyaluronic acid which gives them a more fuller appearance and plumps them for the perfect pout. This lip balm is also used to prepare lips for makeup application, acting as a lip primer, perfect for making that matte lipstick look stylish and not cracked and dry!

IMG_1127.JPGLast but not least is the Liquid Gold with 5% Glycolic Acid. I have heard so many good things about this product so can’t wait to try it! It has won countless awards including the Best Overnight Facial by Bazaar in 2017. This acts as a skin resurfacing treatment that uses a low PH, due to the glycolic acid to improve the appearance of pigmentation and help improve sun damaged skin. This product aims to brighten the complexion and give the radiant glow that we all dream of. It is recommended to use it 2-3 times a week and apply it to cleansed skin with a cotton pad. For maximum results and to benefit from an ‘overnight facial’ they recommend to leave it on whilst you sleep, without applying a moisturiser, to allow it to work uninterrupted. This product has countless positive reviews so I am so excited to use it and hopefully see an improvement in my skins radiance and texture!

The first four products I mention I believe are available on the QVC website and they sell them for such a good price as a Four Piece Daily Essentials collection. I thought I would put this link in as, if you are interested in purchasing anything, the products are really well priced!

“Beautiful skin requires commitment, not a miracle!” – this one is so funny but true!

With all of these products, particularly the Liquid Gold, you are not going to see a difference unless you use it frequently and continuously. I am going to start using this range this evening and I will do an update, probably in the comments, in a weeks time! I hope you enjoyed reading this post and let me know if you have ever tried any of these products or anything else from Alpha H! Hope to see you back soon!

  1. **UPDATE!**
So this skincare range smells gorgeous and it feels so luxurious to use and apply, especially the cleanser! However, unfortunately by day four I had to stop using the cleanser and moisturiser as it started to break me out. I think the reason for this was because the products were too oily for my skin. They would be perfect for people with dry skin and this range is an anti ageing range so it probably isn’t suitable for my skin type. However, I did love the eye serum, lip balm and the Liquid Gold, I am still using them! The Liquid Gold gives your skin a gorgeous glow the next day and the eye serum and lip balm are the perfect steps to add to my daily routine. Although some of these products didn’t work for my skin, it doesn’t mean they won’t work for yours! Everyone has different skin, different reactions and different concerns and I know that this brand is loved by many, that’s why it has so many good reviews! I’m sure other products would work for me but unfortunately these just weren’t the ones! I felt it was important to write this update honestly, otherwise what’s the point of me blogging and giving my opinion?! I will always be honest with my reviews and thoughts.
