Let’s talk about SPF…

As June is now very much upon us, I thought I would do a post on SPF and why you need it in your life. Yes, I would love to sit here and say that everyone understands the importance (regardless of whether it’s sunny or not) and applies it every day. However, this isn’t the case… why would it be? It can be uncomfortable on the skin, unflattering under makeup and, worst of all, cause breakouts. That was what I used to think but these can’t be used as excuses anymore, there are so many great products out there that make wearing SPF comfortable and the development and innovation of SPF has come on leaps and bounds!

I am sure that you are well aware of the effects that the sun can have if you are not protecting your skin and it has been proven time and time again that SPF really makes a huge difference in avoiding these things. With that in mind, I wanted to do this post to just name a few products that make it easy to apply SPF and also some that I have seen this year that look like really great products.

Now, it’s unlikely that I would be using the same SPF in the winter as I do in the summer but it’s important that it is still applied daily, after all the sun may go away but the UV rays are still very much with us. I am more likely to reapply SPF in the summer, especially when on holiday and use a higher factor, but for winter, I just use a trusty product that I can apply in the morning before makeup. Also, I am someone that is constantly using AHA’s on my skin so this makes it even more important that I am wearing SPF the next day.

“When I think of my holy grail SPF product, I think of this.”

Murad Invisiblur Perfecting Shield SPF30, £6061IHuvkQqkL._SL1500_I love to use a primer that contains a good SPF and this one has been my life saver for months now. It is definitely on the pricier side but is so worth it. It has lasted me ages and it also helps to control my oily areas throughout the day, as well as blurring any areas that need it. When I think of my holy grail SPF product, I think of this.

The Body Shop Skin defence SPF50 Moisturiser, £17

This product was probably one of the first that I purchased when I started to understand the importance of SPF and took it more seriously. When used under makeup this gives a really lovely dewy finish . I also love that it is SPF50 so is really protective and contains vitamin C to brighten skin, giving it a healthy glow!

Vichy Ideal Soleil Solar Protective Hydrating Water, £19

acfkeeqceusw4nbl8dxeThis is a product that I have only recently seen but I can’t wait to get my hands on it! I love that it is a hydrating spray so is beneficial to the skin and it also comes in quite a reasonable sized bottle so you get a lot of product for the price.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Anti-Shine Gel SPF50+, £16.50

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Invisible Face Mist SPF50+, £14

These two products are ones that I have just purchased but have read amazing reviews. I love that I can apply this anti shine gel in the morning under makeup to help keep my shine at bay but then carry the face mist with me to top up on my SPF throughout the day to ensure that my skin is always protected. Also, the mist can be applied over makeup which is perfect.

I hope you found this post helpful and enjoyed reading! I feel very strongly about the importance of SPF more now than I ever have, especially in the height of summer, so wanted to make sure I featured it on my blog! If you are interested in seeing more from me, I will link my YouTube channel and Instagram and you can also check them out in the menu tab!

Hope to see you back soon,

Nadia X
